Steam-distilled from dried, slightly fermented leaves of Pogostemon cablin, mainly in Indonesia.
How perfumers use it
A pillar of chypres, ambers and modern gourmands. Fractions and “hearts” give cleaner versions.
Did you know? Unlike most oils, patchouli improves with age, becoming smoother and richer.
