Where it comes from
Steam-distilled from the roots of Chrysopogon zizanioides, mainly in Haiti, Java and India.
How perfumers use it
Gives elegance and an earthy dryness to woody and fresh perfumes.
Did you know? In South Asia it is called khus: the same roots scent summer sherbets and cool rooms when woven into wet screens.
