Where it comes from
Extracted from Evernia prunastri, a lichen that grows on oak trees in the Balkans and Morocco.
How perfumers use it
The heart of the chypre and fougère families.
Did you know? It is a lichen, not a moss.
Safety & regulation
Restricted by IFRA because of atranol and chloroatranol; perfumers use low-atranol grades or Evernyl.
For education only. Raw materials should be diluted for smelling and never applied neat to skin. Always follow the supplier’s safety data sheet and the current IFRA Standards.
