Where it comes from
The main component of citrus peel oils, often over 90% of orange oil.
How perfumers use it
A light, fresh top note and a natural part of every citrus oil.
Did you know? Despite being most of orange oil, it smells surprisingly weak: the character comes from minor molecules.
Safety & regulation
EU-labelled allergen; oxidised limonene is the main sensitiser, so keep citrus oils fresh and sealed.
For education only. Raw materials should be diluted for smelling and never applied neat to skin. Always follow the supplier’s safety data sheet and the current IFRA Standards.
